D44 - ECDIS - Electronic Chart Display and information System
Scope (Target audience) :
This course has been designed to meet the requirements of regulations I/12 of the STCW convention and section A-II/1&2 and is based on the guidelines of IMO Model course 1.27.
Course provides training in the basic theory and use of ECDIS for those who will be in charge of a navigational watch on vessels equipped with ECDIS. Program can be tailored to specific shipping company procedures reflecting ISM Code requirements.
Objective : The trainees who successfully complete this course will be able to use ECDIS for their navigational watch, to operate ECDIS equipment, use the navigational functions of ECDIS, select and assess all relevant information and take proper action.

Course registration requirements:
Identification card or passport
Upon completion of the course, participants will be able to demonstrate and apply sufficient knowledge and skills acquired in the field of ECDIS, and will be able to fully understand electronic navigation and electronic maps to take on the duties of officer in charge of the bridge, according to STCW conventions.
The candidate will receive a certificate (D44 certificate) on the completed course - Use of electronic chart display with information system - (ECDIS).
