Scope (Target audience) : The course is intended for Engineering and Electro – Technical Officers who are required to develop an understanding and overview of the operational procedures of the propulsion system. Courses can be customized depending on the vessels.

Course content : The purpose of the course is to provide an understanding of essential safety issues when working with electrical equipment onboard. The course will cover a wide range of concepts and terminology of electrical power as well as overview of various electrical propulsion systems, system components, system configuration and operations.
Electrical installations are present in any ship, from powering of communication and navigation equipment, alarm and monitoring system, running of motors for pumps, fans or winches, to high power installation for electric propulsion.
The course includes:
- Fuel consumption
- Electrical transmissions
- Propulsion engine
- Typed of propellers and their constructions
- Functioning of the propulsion system
- Basics of azipod technology
- Perspectives of electric propulsion use
- Ecology
Duration: 2 days
Prerequisite :
- Identification card or passport
