This course is mandatory for candidates you are applying to the following sectors: Yachts, Fishing, Tugs, Workboats, Seismic Survey, Standby Oceanographic Research Vessels and Government Patrol Vessels. The course is also intended for Captains and yacht crew on commercial yacht and it is suited for candidates who are starting careers within the deck or engine department on superyachts and for Skippers on smaller yachts. The Approved engine course is aimed to provide a wide and general comprehension of basic marine diesel mechanics and electrics with an understanding of the chief engineer\u2019s responsibilities.<\/p><p>&nbsp;<\/p><p><strong>Course content :\u00a0\u00a0<\/strong>The purpose of the course is to provide candidates with theoretical knowledge and practical experience of diesel engines to work as dual deck hand \/ engineers. \u00a0It covers refrigeration, legislation (books and records) maintenance systems and techniques, safe systems of work, lifting and slinging, electrical distribution, basic hydraulic systems, fresh water and sewage systems.<\/p><p>The course includes:<\/p><ul><li>Refrigeration systems.<\/li><li>Compression ignition engines.<\/li><li>Maintenance of system onboard which includes carrying out endoscope inspections, lubricating oil analysis and other.<\/li><li>Operation and construction of engines.<\/li><li>Electrical system onboard.<\/li><li>Fuel systems.<\/li><li>The role of air in the combustion process.<\/li><li>Cooling and lubrication systems.<\/li><li>Engine electrical systems.<\/li><li>Power transmission and hull fittings.<\/li><li>Freshwater and sewage systems.<\/li><li>Basic hydraulic system maintenance.<\/li><li>Safe working practices, pollution prevention and bottled gas installations.<\/li><li>Legislative and Management requirements within engineering operations including <a href=\"https:\/\/www.imo.org\/en\/About\/Conventions\/Pages\/International-Convention-for-the-Prevention-of-Pollution-from-Ships-(MARPOL).aspx\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">MARPOL<\/a> and the Code of Safe Working Practices<\/li><\/ul><p>&nbsp;<\/p><p>&nbsp;<\/p><p><strong>Duration:<\/strong>\u00a05 days<\/p><p>&nbsp;<\/p><p><strong>Prerequisite :\u00a0<\/strong><\/p><ul><li>Identification card or passport<\/li><\/ul><p><strong>\u00a0<\/strong><\/p><p><strong>Note to client :\u00a0<\/strong>After successful completion of the course candidates will receive Approved Engine Course Management level certificate<\/p>","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Approved engine course &#8211; Management level, 5 days course.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"featured_media":0,"template":"","meta":{"_monsterinsights_skip_tracking":false,"_monsterinsights_sitenote_active":false,"_monsterinsights_sitenote_note":"","_monsterinsights_sitenote_category":0},"yoast_head":"<!-- This site is optimized with the Yoast SEO plugin v21.0 -
