Trainees will gain valuable experience in handling ships under various conditions and they will be able to contribute to the bridge team during ship maneuvering.\u00a0 This course meets the principles laid down in STCW 2010 section A-II\/1 and A-II\/2.<\/p><p><br \/><strong>Course content:<\/strong><\/p><ul><li>Familiarization with the bridge hardware, navigational equipment and integrated systems;<\/li><li>Knowledge of ship hierarchy, management and crew interaction and responsibilities;<\/li><li>An understanding of the effects on the behavior of the ship of wind, current, shallow water, banks and narrow channels;<\/li><li>Preparation for preventive measures and activities in emergency situations on board;<\/li><li>A greater awareness of the importance of planning a passage or manoeuvre and the need for an alternative plan;<\/li><li>A greater awareness and understanding of a good interactive communication style and benefit of building up a common shared mental model of the planned passage;<\/li><li>Knowledge about common human errors and accidents that may occur through case studies and dialogs;<\/li><li>Awareness of hazards and its consequences.<\/li><\/ul><p>&nbsp;<\/p><p><strong><br \/><br \/>Duration:<\/strong> 5 days<br \/><br \/><\/p><p><strong>Prerequisite :<\/strong><\/p><ul><li>Identification card or passport<\/li><li>Trainees wishing to enter this course should have minimum completed exams for the <a href=\"https:\/\/ssm.hr\/en\/course\/d5-oow-of-ship-up-to-500-bt-in-navigational-area-d5-oow-of-ship-up-to-500-bt-in-navigational-area-5\/\">OOW<\/a>, and also have completed a course of training which meets or exceeds the standard set out in\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/imo.org\">IMO<\/a>\u00a0Assembly resolution A.483 (XII) &#8211; Training in radar observation and plotting.<\/li><\/ul><p>&nbsp;<\/p><p><strong>Note to client :<\/strong><\/p><p>After successful completion of the course candidates will receive\u00a0 BRM &#8211; Bridge Resource Management\u00a0 certificate.<\/p>","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>D45 &#8211;
