The following training courses are conducted at the training ground:
- D2 – Basic Safety Training – STCW A-VI/1
- D17 – Proficiency in Survival Craft and Rescue Boats other than Fast Rescue Boats – STCW VI/2-1
- D18 – Proficiency in Fast Rescue Boats – STCW VI/2-2
- HUET – Helicopter Underwater Escape Training
- HLO – Helicopter Landing Officer
- ESC – Enclosed space entry
D2 Basic Safety course
is based on a series of practical demonstration exercises on a boat, on the fire-fighting polygon and in the pool:
- lowering and driving a rescue boat
- use of thermal suits and life vests
- opening a life-saving raft
- fire-fighting drills on the polygon
D17 – Proficiency in Survival Craft and Rescue Boats other than Fast Rescue Boats – STCW VI/2-1
The course runs for 3 days, including 17 hours of practical exercises. Candidates will become familiar with:
- shipboard situations requiring urgent action
- the use of open, totally enclosed and rescue boats, and the equipment for launching them
- the use and assembly of rescue equipment, including electronic equipment
- organisation and procedures for search and rescue operations
- rescuing people from the sea
D18 – Proficiency in Fast Rescue Boats – STCW VI/2-2
This course is taken after successfully completing the D17 course.
It is intended for all seafarers whose duties include operating a fast rescue boat. On successful completion, trainees will be qualified to operate and take charge of any rescue boat during and after launching, as well as to operate a fast rescue boat’s engine.

In addition to the concession courses mentioned above, the Resnik polygon also holds exercises for the HUET – Helicopter Underwater Escape Training course.
This course is essential across many segments of the maritime industry, primarily for offshore industry personnel, but also for military and mountain rescue service (HGSS) staff who are regularly transported by helicopter. As the name suggests, the purpose of the course is to prepare candidates for a helicopter crash landing on water and to train them to carry out a rescue in such a situation. The training includes simulated submersion in water with rotations and various accompanying scenarios. Candidates are introduced to the most important actions during a crash, such as the correct reaction on impact, avoiding smoke inhalation, exiting the helicopter in the quickest and safest way, and surfacing while holding their breath or using an emergency air supply.

Exercises for HLO (Helicopter Landing Officer) are held at the Resnik polygon.
This programme is designed to give candidates the knowledge to identify hazards, review safe working practices for helicopter operations, and the skills to respond to any helicopter emergency on offshore platforms.
