Target audience:
Personnel who wish to gain theoretical and practical knowledge of offshore crane operations but are without or have just a little of previous experience.
Course aims:
The aim of this course is to provide course participants with the basic knowledge and skills about operating and conducting pre-use inspections of cranes and associated lifting equipment.
Course Content
- Understanding the roles and responsibilities of an offshore crane operator and the safety implications related to this position.
- Introduction to crane operation terminology.
- Identifying and explaining key elements of relevant legislation.
- Understanding the role and responsibilities of the offshore crane operator and safety implications attached to that role.
- Introduction to crane maintenance and inspection requirements.
- Understanding the main crane controls, safety devices, working limitations, possible hazards and safety practices of an offshore crane operator.
- Understanding typical crane maintenance and inspection requirements.
- Practical operational training following a basic lifting plan via an offshore crane simulator.
Duration: 3 days
Prerequisite :
- Identification card or passport
