About Training Centre
Split Ship Management is a privately owned maritime company established in May 1994. The same year we started the Maritime Training Center (MTC) 25 years later, we are the third oldest maritime training center and one of the largest in Europe. Our 65 highly qualified lecturers train over 4,500 seafarers annually.
We are also the first maritime company in Croatia 1996. approved for ISO 9000. We have a Business Security and Management System Certificate for ISO9001: 2015 and MLC2006 Extended Approval issued by DET NORSKA VERITAS. ISM DOC certification since 1998. We are also approved by the Panama flag, the flag of Liberia and the Bahamas. Our clients come from all over the world, starting from Croatia, Germany, the Netherlands, Belgium, Norway, Switzerland, Singapore, Korea and the USA. Among various services we provide a wide range of training programs (totaling more than 320) for crew members.
Our programs are in line with STCW and IMO. We have training approvals from the Croatian Maritime Authority, MCA UK and the UK’s Nautical Institute.
Ongoing professional development
The SSM Training Centre also regularly provides flag approved training dedicated to high-speed craft (catamaran and hydrofoil), ship/company security officer courses and to professional/amateur yachtsmen. Ongoing professional development of both seagoing personnel and courses for shore-based staff are also delivered.

Training Centre currently offers 315 courses, but that number is constantly growing due to market demands and needs of our clients.
It is fully equipped with various equipment for courses from our offer, and also modern bridge and engine simulators
Lecturers in our Training Centre are Masters and/or Chief Engineers with rich sea experience.Most of our courses as organized every week, and it is also important to emphasize possibility of individual (taylor-made) courses for our candidates.
