Certificates and approvals

Having gained our first ISO certificate in 1996, we take pride in retaining it to this day (ISO 9001:2015, ISO 14001:2015). Additionally, we have held the ISM DOC certificate since 1998, now issued by DET NORSKE VERITAS and RINA for the flags of Panama, Latvia, and the Bahamas. All our courses adhere to the STCW and IMO Convention standards. We are proud holders of various approvals from esteemed maritime institutions, with special emphasis on MCA UK, Panama Maritime Authority, and Liberia.
Split Ship Managment development

Since its establishment in 1994, Split Ship Management has been providing first class services to clients worldwide. Over the years, we have managed the crew and technical management of 105 different ships. The Company is housed in our own business premises, boasting approximately 3,000 m² of space.

The policy of quality, safety, and environmental protection is to work in accordance with established procedures, ensuring the satisfaction of service users with high-quality, safe services, while also prioritizing environmental protection. The implementation of the quality and safety policy will adhere to ISO 9001:2015, ISO 14001:2015, ISM Code, ISPS Code, MLC 2006 regulations, IHM Inventory of Hazardous Materials (EU Ship Recycling Regulation No. 1257/2013 – additives (PFOS/HBCDD)), and Cyber Security IMO resolution MSC.428 (98).

• Risk assessment, ship, and office drills, misses and near misses
• Proper Master Review
• Frequent ship inspections
• Ship and office internal audits
• Investment in the maintenance and procurement of resources and equipment needed for technical and personnel management and training
• Careful selection of new seafarers and land workers
• Meeting the expectations and demands of service users and being prepared to respond in critical and emergency situations

The Quality Management Policy of Ship Management Ltd. is oriented toward the user of our services, ensuring a continuously high quality of services, determining user satisfaction, and decisively using our knowledge to permanently improve services.
The Environmental and Safety Policy ensures the safety of ship operation, guarantees a safe working environment, introduces protection for all identified risks, and continuously improves the security capabilities of personnel on land and on ships. This includes readiness for critical safety situations and the prevention of environmental pollution. Reducing harmful emissions into the earth, sea, air, and atmosphere and measures to reduce the amount of wastewater, while ensuring proper handling, treatment, and/or disposal to appropriate organizations, are paramount. It is our responsibility to the local community and the quality of life within it. Environmental aspects are considered annually.
Quality and safety management and environmental protection are our top priorities, and the Quality and Safety Environmental Manual is the fundamental management document. To maintain our position in the market and move forward, we pay special attention to risk analysis and risk management. All incidents, including those concerning environmental impact, are immediately investigated, and recommendations are communicated through line management, Fleet and QSE Management, and DPA.
The achievement of the set goals will be measured through a series of analyses, including determining customer/user satisfaction, analyzing the success of performed work, measuring the amount of achieved targets, measuring achieved staff training, procurement of new equipment, the number of newly created cooperations, financial results achieved, EMS analyses, measuring the KPI index within cumulative analyses, the number of critical situations and their analysis, the number of risk assessments and their analyses, and more. Measurements are conducted weekly, monthly, semi-annually, annually through daily operational meetings, individual department analyses, and target analyses within the Management Review semi-annually and annually.

About us

Established in 1994, we are a privately-owned ship management company dedicated to providing professional management services to reputable ship owners. Since establishment, the company has successfully operated the crew and technical management of 105 different ships. Holding our first ISO certificate since 1996, we are proud holders still today. Additionally, we have held the ISM DOC certificate since 1998, now issued by DET NORSKE VERITAS and RINA for the flags of Panama, Latvia, and the Bahamas.

Accomplishments

Annually employing approximately 1,500 seamen, our extensive seamen database now counts 24,000 individuals. We boast ownership of one of the best training centers in South Europe, offering 369 different courses. Our Training Centre educates over 4,000 seamen each year, with all courses aligning with STCW and IMO Convention standards.

Acknowledged company

We are proud holders of various approvals from renowned maritime institutions, with a particular emphasis on MCA UK, Panama Maritime Authority, and Liberia. Our Training Centre is equipped with state-of-the-art facilities, including modern bridge and engine simulators. Most of our courses are organized weekly, and we highlight the flexibility of offering individual (tailor-made) courses for our candidates. Our lecturers are experienced seamen of all ranks with rich sea experience.
